Out of Office Style

Dots, spots, polka-dots, speckled.  Whatever you want to call them, I love them.  With a few party invitations on my calendar, I figured it was the perfect excuse to go shopping (as if I really needed an excuse) to add a few more dots to my wardrobe.  I popped into Zara, seeking out a specific dress that I had spotted in one of their editorial emails. Not finding it on the floor, I asked about it and was handed this dress instead.  Turned out, I loved this one even more than the one I was originally after.

Styling Tip –

The dots on this dress are a perfect size, not too large that it would feel overwhelming on a small frame.  For the party, I wore fleece tights and knee high boots, since it’s still pretty cold outside and the fabric of the dress is fairly thin/sheer.  For a little extra, festive flair, I added gold hoops by Elizabeth Cole and carried a vintage beaded clutch. However, for a more casual look, this dress could be styled with simple gold hoops and slides during the warmer months.

This looks great on you! I’m always too scared to rock the dots, so I tend to stick with basic solids or floral prints… but maybe this spring I should step outside of my comfort zone and try some!

Don’t be scared! Find the right size dot is important because I know the fear is looking a little “Minnie Mouse”. Start off small and then just go for it! They’re a lot of fun!

Love this! I used to rock polka dots all the time as a teenager but am suddenly more drawn to stripes and checkered patterns than polka dots. But this dress is calling me!

Thanks! Dots can definitely feel “dowdy” but it’s all about the fabric and styling! 🙂

Such a pretty dress! I never know how to style polka dots because they’re so bold, but your red lip and simple gold hoops compliment it perfectly!

Definitely keep it simple! It can be a bold pattern but adding luxe touches really can elevate it!
