Labor Day is long gone, school is back in session, and social media is filled with everything pumpkin spice related. Must be fall! With the official autumnal equinox only days away, this should mean sweater, tights, and booties. However, the weather doesn’t always seem to cooperate with seasons. In fact, the last few days in DC have seen the return of warmer temperatures and humidity. Joy.
As someone who usually dresses for the weather and not for the season, finding transitional pieces that toe the line between seasons is key to looking chic and not be temperature miserable. My favorite is a short dress with long sleeves. This dress has both – not to mention a statement balloon sleeve to keep things en vogue. Black and white stripes are so classic that it’s in style in every season. This way, you don’t have to worry about dressing outside the seasonable color palette. However, I added little pops of orange as a nod to those autumnal shades.
