The popular color this season is red, specifically oxblood. The depth of the color is absolutely beautiful and I love it. However, there is another color trend that hasn’t been getting as much love as it deserves. So, if you want to stand out in the crowd but still make sure you’re on trend, then you need to get on board with metallics.
Metallics always seem to be saved for the holidays, but I don’t see why you couldn’t wear them year round. Admittedly, it’s a fine line between chic and tacky. I realize the fear of metallics is looking like this:
I promise you, there are super chic ways of wearing metallics. I’m dying over this platinum/bronze moto jacket. As someone who often defaults to black and white, especially on those uninspired mornings, a little metallic jacket is a perfect way to add some oomph to your outfit. You can show up to work sporting a lot of style and still take the jacket off if it feels a little too over-the-top for the office. The shirt, with its ruffle-edged cuffs, and the dart work on the skirt, add just enough detail to make a rather simple outfit feel special, even without the jacket.
