It’s summer which means wearing black all day, all the time, gets a bit harder. That is, if you don’t want to bake in the heat and humidity that D.C. is known for. Still doesn’t mean I won’t try anyway. Can’t ask a zebra to change her stripes. 🙂
For those days where even I can’t bear to wear black, I love white! While I was in England, traipsing through the countryside, I picked up this adorable white tea dress at Oliver Bonas. It was my first time visiting their shop and I think it’s my new favorite British lifestyle store, filled with an eclectic mix of home goods, furniture, cards, and clothes, all at reasonable prices!
I fell in love with this dress the second I saw it hanging on the rack. It was light and airy, with a fun abstract print (and just a touch of black). The longer tea length, along with the loose curls, give it a classy, vintage feel. However, instead of the obvious t-strap heel, I updated the look with a more contemporary, cross-strap suede shoe and gray bar earrings, also from Oliver Bonas. Can’t wait to wear it to my next afternoon tea!
