Happy Halloween!
I’m not going to lie, I love Halloween. It’s just one of those days where you get to dress up (any excuse for fake eyelashes) and just have a little fun. No pressure, no stress (other than picking a costume), and a lot of Hocus Pocus. And Kit Kats/Reese’s. This year, I spread out the Halloween celebrations – early morning masquerade dance party at Daybreaker, costume birthday party, pumpkin carving with friends, and a belated bash at work to round a full week of spooky fun.
Enough about Halloween; back to fashion. 🙂
There are so many trends for the fall/winter season – western/cowboy boots, prairie dresses, checks, neon, etc. Frankly, it’s hard to keep up. I usually like to pick one trend to focus on; it’s much easier to manage and also far more cost effective. This season, I’m embracing leopard again.
I love leopard because it always comes back into vogue every couple of years. Meaning, you can invest in piece or two and reintroduce it into your regular rotation when it becomes a hot item again. Though personally, I think it’s a great closet staple and more of a classic pattern than a trend. Either way, I’m happy that I can wear leopard with abandon.
Styling Tips
This look is pretty simple – I let the dress do all the work. Between the leopard print with hints of neon yellow (another trend!), pleated details, and collar tie – all you need is a pair of killer heels and a simple purse. You could probably add a pair of black cat-ears for a subtle, work-appropriate Halloween costume.
