The seasons are changing and it’s all about the transitional wardrobe now. The weather last few days in DC have been GLORIOUS and very spring-like. But then reality kicks in and you realize that it’s only FEBRUARY. Which means there probably will be another cold front that will swing through in March and ruin all whole ‘spring is here!’ fantasy. Because I’m jaded like that. 🙂
One big trend from the fall was the pussy bow blouse and it’s one that I can’t wait to continue into the rest of the year. Watching a lot of the New York Fashion Week runway shows, I noticed that bows are still going to be a big trend. However, I’m not usually a fan of the super-girly look and bows can certainly go in that direction. That’s why I totally jumped on this string bow tie. It’s a fun way to participate in the trend but still make it my own. I like to think of this look as ‘Colonel Sander chic,’ in the best way possible.
The key to dressing for the ever-changing temperature is layering. I love this light knit sweater dress because I can make it work for most of the year. Adding tights and a leather jacket makes it perfect for fall and winter. Take those away, pair it with cute black flats, and you can wear it on a beautiful spring day.
Just springing into spring, if you will 🙂
