My favorite time of year to rock a floral is, surprisingly, winter. It gives me a boost during an otherwise bleak time of year filled with cold, shortened days and serves a reminder that spring (and warmer weather) aren’t far away. I also love that winter florals often mean a darker palette rather than the bright springs colors, which appeals to my proclivity towards dark hues.
I love that this blouse is a mix of vintage and contemporary. The high collar, necktie, and pearl button detail on the sleeves gives a nod to days past, while the bold floral pattern in dark green punctuated by bright pink tones feels very modern. I continued with the contemporary elements by styling it with a pair of high-waisted, straight-legged trousers and stiletto booties. The green circle bag plays off the green in the blouse and completes the look. It’s a perfect storm of old and new, feminine but strong, bold but professional.
